Forest Grove

Nestled in the heart of Oregon’s Tualatin Valley, Forest Grove is a picturesque city steeped in history and brimming with small-town charm. The city’s downtown features art galleries, quaint shops and local eateries dotting the tree-lined streets. New construction homes in growing subdivisions and historic homes in Old Town are both within walking distance of Main Street. Despite its size, Forest Grove has a variety of neighborhoods with distinct architectural styles, and each has its own community or private park.

At its center lies Pacific University, a prestigious institution known for its Optometry School, Physical Therapy Graduate Program, and its Early Learning Community. Pacific University is the oldest chartered university in the West, and it plays a significant role in Forest Grove. Each year, there is a Performing Arts Series with music and entertainment, a Corn Roast and Harvest Festival, and the Concours d ’Elegance – a car show featuring hundreds of classic cars displayed throughout the campus.

Like many smaller American cities, Forest Grove strives for community involvement and organizes many events throughout the year including a Sidewalk Chalk Art Festival contest, Oktoberfest, Wine Walks, and Uncorked – a Main Street event featuring local wineries, brews, fine arts, and local music talent. In the warmer months, you will find the Farmers’ Market on Main Street every Wednesday and at least one concert a week on the expansive green lawn in front of McMenamin’s Grand Lodge.

Located just 25 miles west of Portland at the foothills of the coast range, Forest Grove is defined by its lush forests, rolling hills, and natural beauty that beckons outdoor enthusiasts to explore by bike and foot. There are endless trails within and just outside the city including those at Henry Hagg Lake, Fernhill Wetlands, and the Banks-Vernonia State Trail. The friendly small-town community vibe combined with the beautiful countryside, an impressive array of nearby wineries, the region’s only sake brewery, and the proximity of Portland make Forest Grove a favored home to thousands.
